SilentCity Films

The SilentCity project is currently in its second stage. This will be an extension of our work to date, culminating in a live multimedia installation/performance this summer. For the first part of the project, we responded with short films to a six-week period of creative activity, undertaken by DeySed based on a shared experiential relationship with Dublin city during the 'quiet hour' of 5am-6am. Here are the four film responses:

Below is a film, documenting the first of those hours, shot on the Wednesday morning (5am-6am) of 04/02/09. As it was our first shared experience of that hour in the city we chose to set out with a sense of exploration, seeking to develop and re-imagine our relationship with the city. In search of the compelling and poetic, we traveled along a pre-agreed route from Capel Street to the Docklands, which took in, Smithfield fruit markets, the Ha'Penny Bridge, George's Street, The College of Surgeons and Pearse Street.
